North Carolina Executive Roundtable Hosts Gary Tomlinson at November 2014 Meeting

Price: $30.00

Date: November 14, 2014

Gary Tomlinson of Tomlinson and Associates, to speak on " Closing the Gap between Strategy & Execution" on Friday, November 14th

What would be possible if your organization could consistently close the gap between strategy and execution? What would that mean for both you and your organization? This gap exists. In fact, sources like Fortune and The Harvard Review say that “less than 10% of strategies effectively formulated are effectively implemented.” The Execution Value Gap, which is the lost value between your strategic plan and the actual execution of that plan, represents the largest opportunity cost for most organizations.

Closing the gap is possible and in this presentation you will learn how to make it happen. With 90% of companies failing to fully execute their strategic plans, Gary Tomlinson of Tomlinson and Associates, has spent the last decade working with the Keyne Institute to understand what it takes for companies to close the Execution Gap and actually achieve the results they expect. In this fast paced presentation participants will learn:

  • 5 affirmations leadership must understand for successful execution.
  • 4 key actions that high performing organizations consistently deliver.
  • 3 pillars of successful execution management.
  • 2 essential requirements for execution management.
  • 1 absolute imperative for managing execution down to an individual level.

Are you seeing the results you expect and the progress you know is possible in your organization?

Gary Tomlinson is an entrepreneur and founder of five successful businesses. Gary is well versed in the areas of entrepreneurship, leadership, execution management and professional speaking education. From the time he worked as an operating room technician, more than 40 years ago, Gary saw the value in learning by doing as well as by teaching. Later, as a successful pioneer of US Surgical stapling instruments, he went the extra mile for his customers by providing one-on-one training, in-service programs, and teaching workshops.

In 1978, when Gary co-founded his first business, a medical equipment home care company, he put his teaching skills and love of learning to work creating a corporate culture that thrived on team work, collaborations, community learning and outside experts – concepts that were unheard of at the time.

When Med Covers, Inc., a medical manufacturing company, was founded by Gary in 1984 his creative thinking and leadership philosophy had a profound impact on the firm and its growth. Med Covers adopted a unique objective – “to lead and do business with the human spirit as the firm’s primary customer.” This style allowed Med Covers to build on and value its core competencies which enabled them to obtain and retain customers.

Today, as a business consultant, Gary uses his on-going education and his 35 years of experience to help organizations establish execution management as a competency.  His unique approach to managing execution is designed to bridge the huge gap between planning and implementation. Gary uses a revolutionary process which enables his clients to successfully achieve their yearly objectives year after year. Regardless of his topic, Gary’s guiding coalition is that the golden rule not only makes good moral sense, but it makes good business sense too.
